Gareth Southgate's side face a reprise of their Euro 2020semi-final against the Danes in Group C, having won 2- 1 afterextra-time in July 2021 before ultimately losing to Italy in the final. England's first game on June 16 sees them travel to Gelsenkirchen to take on Serbia, who finished second in qualifying Group G behind Hungary, and who they've not faced since their split with Montenegro in 2006.

Euro 2024 draw in full Group

Group A - Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland
Group B - Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania
Group C - Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England
Group D - Poland/ Wales/ Finland/ Estonia, Netherlands, Austria, France
Group E - Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, Israel/ Bosnia & Herzegovina/ Ukraine Iceland
Group F- Turkey, Georgia/ Greece/ Kazakhstan/ Luxembourg, Portugal, Czech Republic

They also take on Denmark four days latterly in Frankfurt before rounding off their group on June 25 in Cologne against Slovenia, who they preliminarily beat in a must-have- palm final group game at World Cup 2010 to reach the knockout stages."When Denmark was drawn, you might have thought it could be Denmark, Croatia, and Italy or something similar, and you'd be curious about how things are shaping up.But, of course, you have to be very careful not to underestimate the opponents you have.I have been fortunate as a trainer and a player to go to eight events. I have seen a lot of brigades that were fancied and well- ranked going in to events and not deliver in their group. We need to be humble and begin anew. As well as we have been playing, as well as we have erected over a long period of time and we have had five times where we have been ranked in the top five in the world, we have had thickness of performance and results, but a new event means a new challenge and the first ideal is to get out of the group again

Southgate praise for Scotland and Wales England director Gareth Southgate to News"

They are both good football brigades in the end. Rob( Page) has still got a couple of stages to go, but Steve( Clarke) has done a brilliant job with Scotland to get them where they are. He will be looking at that group suppose' that'll be possible to get through'.

" In terms of the quality of what they are, you'd rather not play them, but in terms of the original derby element, they are brilliant to be a part of." " It's clear that the platoon are heading in a good direction. we were in a tough qualifying group and we won it comfortably, but that is history. You have to go again in the coming timetable time.
It's enjoyable when we travel in Europe, people appreciate us, and it feels good to receive positive recognition. But we know there is still a step we want to take and that is what drives us."
Should England win their group, they would face either the third- placed platoon from Group D, E or F in the last- 16- and could set up a quarter-final clash with Scotland if Steve Clarke's side finished second in GroupA. still, they would face the winner of Group A, most likely Germany,If the Three Lions were to finish second in GroupC. The Scots face a tough test in that group against the hosts, as well as games against imperishable qualifiers Switzerland and Hungary, who reached the knock- eschewal stages in 2016, also in GroupA. The Tartan Army have history remonstrating off events, having been drawn to face Brazil in the opening game of World Cup 1998, a game they hardly lost 2- 1 to a alternate- half Tom Boyd own thing.

This time, they start at the Olympiastadion and then play against Switzerland in Cologne on June 19, followed by a match against Hungary in Stuttgart on June 23.Wales, should they qualify, will face another delicate prospect with the Netherlands, Austria and France awaiting in Group D for the Path A play- offwinner.
Their first game would seeThey will play against the Netherlands in Hamburg on June 16, followed by matches against Ralf Rangnick's Austria on June 21 and the team that finished as runners-up in the 2022 World Cup, France, on June 25.

Southgate: Major event experience can help England

presumably the biggest pressure is the pressure you put on yourself because of what you want to achieve and what you want to bring for your country. It's no more or less than when I started in the job seven times agone.

"We now have a lot further experience, a lot further experience of big matches and navigating events so we are looking forward to it. We are hoping we can give our suckers some further great nights like we've in the last three events.

The main lesson England has taken from recent events is that when they face a challenging performance or result, which occurs in every event, they have managed it well.to navigate that. Indeed the players have got used to that you have to stay on track in those moments.

"We have also got great experience of really big matches, including several quarter- tests, which people kind of dismiss now, but quarter- tests of major events are big games. We won one in Russia against Sweden, we also beat Ukraine( at Euro 2020) and they are big nights.

"They are stored in the memory bank for us as a staff, but also a lot of the players that are with us.

Every team of players understands that you only have a limited number of events, and you aim to play in a team that has the opportunity to win. Results over a harmonious period will tell you we're one of those brigades that can, as the likes of France and Portugal will feel as well.

There are strong teams in Europe, and this event has seen various teams win because they performed exceptionally well at the right time.Denmark and Greece did it, so it does throw up some anomalies, but we want to go into every event as competitive as we are.

"We set that out 10 times agone can we get to the ultimate stages of events regularly', because that is how you learn to win in the end.

"Clarke All matches in our group will The competition is what it is.
I have got to go down and do some schoolwork, look at the opposition and prepare the platoon duly, that is the most important thing. " The good thing about the draw is we now have clarity- we know who we play and when we play them so we can prepare for it. " It
should be a good occasion, but we've to make sure it's about the match and not the occasion.
We'll turn up and play as well as we can play.Every match in the group will be competitive. It
will be a tough group and we look forward to the challenge

For the past four occasions, our main goal has been to improve with each game.We feel we are on a path where we have done OK, but we also feel that we can do a little more so we'll go down, work hard and try and be as good as we can be come the event coming summer. This time, without the Covid restrictions and the tournament being spread all over Europe, it will be more like what you would call a regular event. For the Tartan Army to come then and enjoy themselves in a different country, I am sure they'll have a great time an the German people will love them and the Tartan Army will love being then.In terms of preparation, there will be two friendly matches in March, two more in June, and then we should be ready for the kick-off.
